The O-Nerve
The recently discovered O-nerve determines who we will love and whom we will go to bed with.

What do you mean, O-nerve?
The O-nerve, as named by the experts, has long avoided the medical ‘radar’ because of being very small. When it was discovered in whales, scientists started questioning whether people have the same nerve.
We do!
What is the purpose of the O-nerve? The O-nerve ends in nasal cavity while fibers wind all the way up to the part of the brain responsible for the sexuality field. Even though it ends in our noses, the O-nerve has nothing to do with the conscious smell perception. Its task is to recognize sexual hints from our potential partners.
How the O-nerve works
Scientists believe we are more drawn to people having a different smell than ours. Relatives have often similar smell, this being the evolutionary barrier for family members to engage in sexual interactivity. Scientists have found that the O-nerve can start or end a relationship. Couples with a high level of similar chemicals of the unconscious smell perception are more prone to infertility, miscarriage and even infidelity. The more your chemical structure of smell differs from your partner’s, the more chances you have for a successful and long relationship. The story, however, takes a different turn with pregnant women. During pregnancy, they are more drawn to relatives and family who offer them support. The O-nerve in pregnant women turns the search for a potential partner into the search for a shelter.
What influences the O-nerve
The O-nerve is actually most influenced by pregnancy and contraceptive pills. Contraceptive pills change the hormone structure of the female body: taking contraceptive pills deceives the body into believing it is pregnant. Women who take contraceptive pills just like pregnant women turn to their dear and loved ones instead of potential partners because of the O-nerve. Scientists also warn that if the woman is taking pills at the beginning of a relationship, passion between the partners might subside after she stops taking them.
The O-nerve is cheat-proof
Unfortunately, we have no influence on our chemical structure of smell. Perfumes and Eaux-de-Cologne cannot deceive the O-nerve. The smells that attract us to the opposite sex are subconscious and instinctive. Not even the most expensive and the best perfumes can deceive this newly-discovered intelligent nerve. When it comes to sexual attraction, especially with the O-nerve, and the search for the right one, we should obviously let things take their own course.
Time will show what the true role of the O-nerve is. One should only remember: when it comes to love, just follow your nose.
