Physicians had to remove a 6.6 stone ovarian cyst

A woman had an ovarian cyst for 12 years and it weighed 6.6 st.

Can you imagine carrying a 6.6 stone cyst in your abdomen? A 32-year old woman from Oklahoma had such a cyst removed. She has carried  the cyst in her body for 12 years, before the physician noticed it at all. The fact which contributed to the situation was that all the physicians she saw advised her various diets due to the obvious obesity, as she weighed 34.7 st.

They traced the cyst when one of the general physicians determined the woman had atypically thin legs in comparison with her body. She sent her to explorative surgery where a giant, 6.6 stone cyst attached to the ovary was removed from her abdomen.


After the operation, the woman lost 9.7 stone and thus weighed 25.5 st. You can watch the video here.

Giant ovarian cysts can also be found elsewhere in the world. The largest cyst physicians tried to remove weighed 15.7 stone, but it unfortunately claimed the life of the woman who carried it in her body.
