Pornography is an anti-women campaign
The theory that pornography is a poisonous anti-women campaign which lies about and distorts the image of a woman and her sexuality is kept alive by those who usually do not even watch pornographic films, let alone are present at filming a pornographic film or talk to a team making pornographic films. It is definitely more comfortable to persist on prejudices created in advance. Additionally, moralists and anti-pornography activists who are allegedly concerned about the mental hygiene of the public forget an important thing: by imposing their one-sided and radical viewpoints, they actually promote the conduct they are trying to prevent. By stigmatizing pornography as the forbidden fruit, they encourage people to watch it.
Porno Manifesto reveals the stereotypes
In 2002, the French porn diva Ovidie, a sex worker with a university degree, published her first literary work Porno Manifesto, which is compulsory reading for readers who want to get rid of the stereotypes connected with pornographic film industry.
Books should only be avoided by those who already have a formed opinion on pornography, and they have no intention or will to change it. The point of Porno Manifesto is largely made against anti-pornography crusaders. According to Ovidie, the attacks of altruism in individuals and groups who feel an unstoppable need to help sex workers are ridiculous, and their attempts to save humiliated and objectivised bodies from the clutches of exploiting industry are actually pathetic. What if, once for a change, sex workers would be asked about it, concludes Ovidie and adds that the work of a pornographic actress in a schizophrenic Western society is not so easy and the price she has to pay is not so low.
Women are involved physically and intimately more than in any other profession. They are under great stress and in constant conflict with their families because it is considered that finding a ‘serious’ job after a career in pornography is difficult. They cannot go in the public without being talked about or even assaulted. Their private life in a relationship is constantly put to the test. However, none of this can be blamed on porn industry, emphasizes Ovidie, the least the contempt with which the society treats a pornographic starlet. These are side effects of prejudices and the environment which eagerly fosters them. The environment where people do not have the nerve to look into their faces without scapegoats. Although increasingly more public media is using pornographic iconography exclusively for commercial purposes. In short, whoever wants to learn anything about pornography should turn to the staff who one way or the other work in this demonized branch of show business. And in conclusion, women in pornography do not enjoy any less than man, contrary to the established belief. They only talk and discuss about it less.
Some pornographic movies show very rough intercourse.
How can porn actresses endure such rough intercourse?
