Women from Ecuador Demand a Constitutional Right to Enjoy Sex
Women from Ecuador do not want to be only an object for satisfying male sexual needs, they also want to satisfy their own desires.
Doesn't every woman deserve to enjoy sex? (jlp)
Women's rights activist from Ecuador and member of one of the governing political parties there, Maria Soledad Vela, sent a proposal to the court claiming that women's enjoyment of sex should become a constitutional right. This proposal is one of several regarding the protection of women's rights in sex that were sent to the court.
Vela said that women were educated and responsible enough to use this right to freely decide on matters regarding their sex life. Until now, women from Ecuador have often been treated as nothing more than objects for reproduction or instruments to sexually satisfy men.
One of the members of the opposition from Ecuador mocked the proposal, saying that women wanted to legalize orgasms. Vela replied that she never asked for the right to have an orgasm, only for the right to enjoy sex.
