We Are All Slightly Bisexual

Is it possible that bisexuality is caused by the distribution of hormones in our bodies?

Freud and his successors claimed that the reason for bisexuality was hormonal, even though they were never able to prove it. Endocrinologists have proven that a too great amount of male hormones can cause feminisation.

When could hormones affect our sexual orientation, according to this theory?

All we can say is that there’s something feminine in every man and vice versa. The amount is different for everyone. If the characteristics of the opposite sex are present to a lesser degree, they can’t affect the sexual life, which remains heterosexual in such a case. Even if the quantity is greater, these characteristics of the opposite sex don’t necessarily lead to bisexuality. It all depends on the partners and their ability and desire to fulfil the somewhat confused wishes of their loved ones.

At first glance, bisexuality reminds us of a condition between two opposites: heterosexuality and homosexuality. But things aren’t nearly as simple as that.  Bisexuality is nothing else than an increased tendency present within all of us, no matter the gender.

Is one member of a couple always a bisexual?

These tendencies often remain unexpressed and unfulfilled, or they manifest themselves only as fantasies. Many heterosexual couples have one bisexual member, but this person isn’t even aware of it or denies this aspect because of the respect for the partner. Real bisexuals are most frequently in a solid relationship with a member of the opposite sex, but they occasionally have relations with members of the same sex. It is interesting to read the findings that married women deal with their husband cheating on them with another man more easily than if he had done it with another woman.

It’s impossible to determine the percentage of bisexuals in our population. According to Kinsey, around 10 to 20% of people are bisexual. This includes both real and coincidental bisexuals.

Who are real bisexuals?

Real bisexuals, even those not fully formed yet, are usually younger people going through an unsteady period where sexual orientation and balance is more a matter of the mind than action. For a clearer determination, they have to wait until they mature. This is because of two reasons. The first is the male erectile dysfunction and female orgasm problems. Both men and women want to “relive their youth” with a member of the same sex. The second reason is the unfulfilled or poorly satisfied desires and fantasies, which one partner considers normal. This is mostly about oral and anal intercourse.

What’s the difference between a bisexual and a homosexual?

The main difference between bisexuals and homosexuals is that the last ones have no choice and don’t see their condition as something wrong. They feel they’re fine as they are and don’t want to change. Even if they wanted to, they couldn’t. We should all accept them as they are.

Unlike homosexuals, bisexuals are aware of their marginal character. They are capable, especially if their tendencies towards the same sex are less intense, to invest a certain amount of effort and create a stabile heterosexual community. In case their partners know about their tendencies and try to satisfy their special desires, the chances of the couple’s normal and satisfactory sexual life are great. Partners who are unable to fulfil these desire will make them run to a member of the same sex to have their desires fulfilled.
