Teenagers with a high IQ and those with a low IQ have sexual intercourse later than the people of the same age with an average IQ. Research on sexual habits of teenagers showed that 63.3% of students with an IQ below 70 have not yet had sexual intercourse. Likewise, 50.2% of students with an IQ between 70 and 90, 58.6% of students with an IQ between 90 and 110, and 70.3% of students with an IQ above 110. The share of students who had not had sexual intercourse and those who study at more demanding faculties increased together with the level of an intelligent quotient.
The study also showed that an adolescent with an intelligence score about 100 were up to five times as likely to have had sexual relations than a peer with an intelligence score of 120-130. Actually, every point in an intelligence score decreases the likelihood for “virginity” 2.7% for boys and 1.7% for girls.
Smarter adolescents start having sexual relations later and are in general less interested in sex because they are focused on other activities that are important in life and will help them achieve the goals set. They understand their sexual debut as a prize that awaits them after reaching the goals.
