Homework: Find a Strip Club!

You probably already know where to find a strip club. But this isn't your homework.

Find a strip club... Or else!

British students of family and sexuality studies have to, in order to pass their exam, find a strip club, a gay club or a sexual aids and adult movies shop and of course also visit it.

They are supposed to find a strip club, or if not possible, an establishment of another type they are going to visit from a previously authorised list and then they have to write down the feelings they had while visiting it. They are assigned the task in order to help them accept more easily everything connected to sex.

For example, one of the students who went to find a strip club, wrote: "The whole time I kept thinking that the woman on the stage dancing was somebody’s daughter. I would never want my daughter to have to dance for money like that."

Find a strip club... It's authorized by the boss

The head of the department finds these kinds of tasks very innovative. "People still find it hard to talk about sex, so I support any kind of approach that encourages people to discuss this topic. Of course, only as far as it is not personally offensive to anyone."

At the end of this year 87 percent of the students said they thought the task was excellent, 4 percent of them did not agree with it and 9 percent did not form an opinion. In the three years since find a strip club started and while working with 2500 students, the professor who thought of this task received a single complaint.
