The agreement on payment is usually based on the number of scenes, while some people even receive a regular wage which includes a specific number of films a year. Such an agreement has, for instance, hot and ambitious startlet in the business, Carmen Luvana, who has a very expensive contract according to which she has to act in 8 to 10 sexual scenes a year in and participate in several pornography conventions across the world. Her aim is to collect enough money to become famous and later retire form the business and invest the money wisely.

Dr. Vern Bullough, a renowned American sexologist, claims there is no difference between the two concepts because they both revolve around sexual intercourse. Some people might disagree with that statement. It is generally thought the main difference is in the fact that pornography is much more humiliating and brutal. In any case, sex sells. The development and availability of the pornographic content also triggered certain changes in the industry of erotic products. The American post office company Adam and Eve was founded in the 1970s. At first, they only delivered condoms to their customers. Today they form a company that generates revenue of several millions per year, and they have had to expand the supply of erotic products at the request of customers. There was another change. Namely, older generations have become much more active in terms of ordering products as well as freeing their sexuality. People above the age of 50 order equal quantities of porn films as men in their 20s and 30s.

Men absolutely love pornography and there are several answers and explanations possible. Some people claim that men respond to visual and erotic stimulation faster than women, who are much choosier as regards freeing their sexuality. Others claim that men are more open to their sexuality and sexual life from adolescence onwards. The most interesting theory is that pornography is made for men. They are the target audience. Or as legendary Ron Jeremy says: “Women are the main attraction of pornography. Of course everyone watches women, guys are just an accessory. In the 1980s, an ex porn star Candida Royalle came up the idea of female pornography. She made 25 movies in five years and then concluded that porn films send unreal messages, exploit women and do not address female sexuality. She founded Femme Pornography, a company producing pornographic films for women. They have started making films from the female point of view, which is more than pleasing for the target group.
