Get to Know Yourself Better with the Kinsey Test

Do not be so sure you are either totally straight or totally homosexual. Put your sexual tendencies to the Kinsey test.

Technically, we could describe homosexuals (male or female) as people who are turned on only by members of the same sex and heterosexuals as people attracted only to the opposite sex. Findings of the latest research show that very few people of both sexes got 6 out of 6 points (which means complete heterosexuality) on the Kinsey heterosexuality scale. And very few homosexuals got 1 point, which represents complete homosexuality. Zero points mean asexuality.

The scale was developed by Dr. Alfred Kinsey, who actually used it to study asexuality. Asexual people are those who do not like caresses or sex and are not interested in partnerships in the least. Soon after the Kinsey test was made fifty years ago, it became popular in many other studies on sexual tendencies.

To rank on the Kinsey scale, you must first take the Kinsey test. You can find it online. Some websites specializing in meeting people have the policy that you must take the Kinsey test in order to be a member. Just so that they know what your tendencies are, if you do not happen to know them yourselves.

It is worth paying close attention to the scale because the latest research in sexual tendencies according to Kinsey show some interesting results.

Partly bisexual (4 out of 6 points on the scale) is more common with women, but women do not often express their same sex tendencies in a physical way. People who get half the points on the scale usually enjoy having same sex intercourse, if having sex with the opposite sex is not available or if there is no opportunity for it. Or vice versa.

Human sexuality isn't as simple as you might have thought.

Those who are completely heterosexual - those who achieve a score of 5 or 6 points on the Kinsey scale - would be completely safe on a desert island with the most beautiful person of the same sex. Those who are completely or almost completely homosexual would be completely turned off from having intercourse with a person of the opposite sex.

If you are even slightly curious to see how you rate according to Kinsey, we recommend you put the words "Kinsey scale" into your favourite search engine.
