Naked protests are more frequent than you might imagine. We present 9 of them!

1. Naked protest against sending British troops to Afghanistan

There was actually only one naked person protesting in May 2010. The woman was doing yoga on the roof of a black taxi in front of the parliament and all the traffic nearby stopped because of her. While doing yoga she was screaming: ''British troops out of Afghanistan!''. The protest lasted only five minutes - the time it took the police to remove her.

2. Naked protests against the killing of bulls in Pamplona

Every year since 2002 there is a protest the day before the famous running of the bulls through the streets of Pamplona on the initiative of PETA. Every bull that is chosen to run on the streets of Pamplona during the festival of San Fermin is killed in the evening bullfights at the arena. The residents of Pamplona have different opinions of the protests but they all agree the naked spectacle cannot cause much harm to the festival because the protests attract a lot of tourists.

3. Naked protests: Fight for the right of being topless in Los Angeles

GoTopless.org is an American organization that fights for equality between the sexes. In their case this means the right of being topless in public places. In order to fight for their cause they have many topless gatherings. 

4. Naked protests of cyclists in Peru

In March 2010 there was a protest of naked cyclists in Lima, the capital of Peru. They demanded from the major to built cycling lanes in the city.

5. Naked protests on the airports

This year several naked protests took place on the airports across Germany to express opposition to the so called 'naked x-ray scanners'. The protesters undressed to their underwear and marched with the signs saying: ''You don't have to undress us - we are already naked!''

6. Naked protests against global warming

Aroung 600 naked people gathered on the Aletsch glacier in Switzerland in 2007 to protest against global warming and its catastrophic consequences. If the global warming continues with the same pace until 2080, all the Swiss glaciers will disappear. The Aletsch glacier where the naked protests took place has decreased for 150 meters in only one year.

7. Naked protests against meat consumption

Two naked women in Kansas City wrapped themselves in a foil full of artificial blood in May 2010. It was a protest against eating meat on the initiative of PETA. Other protesters were passing leaflets to the passers-by which said ''Meat is murder''.

8. Naked protests against the high price of gas

At Easter one German decided to fill his car tank completely naked because of the high prices of fuel. He even paid the bill naked and then walked to his car and drove off without saying a word.

9. Naked protests in support of a student who was expelled for wearing a mini skirt

Geysi Arudda was expelled from the university in Sao Paolo, Brazil for wearing a mini skirt. As a sign of protest against the sexist leadership of the school 250 naked protesters gathered to express support and prevent further expulsion.
