Donkey skin is in demand!
Read what the Chinese make out of donkey skin and why it is in great demand.
Humans and donkeys had always found common grounds (jlp)
A company from Hong Kong, which imports donkey skin, shifted their attention to the northern part of Australia. Until now they imported the skin from South America. Donkey skin is an important ingredient of the medicament called Nu Bao (Xin Qiang Li Nu Baoin), used in Chinese medicine to increase women’s libido, vitality, and it also helps decrease menstrual pains and has an overall good effect on the hormonal system. You can purchase it on the internet, a box with 20 pills will cost you 8 Euros. This medicament is not to be used by pregnant women, and it is also written as a warning that you should not take it if you suffer from Yin deficiency. I did not find donkey skin mentioned anywhere on the web as an ingredient of this medicament, but roots Ginseng and Tan Kwei are mentioned. The sells would probably drop drastically if it would clearly state donkey’s skin as one of the ingredients of the product.
Donkey is a loud and horny animal
300.000 wild donkeys live in the north of Australia, value of a single skin is estimated around 20 Euros. Donkey is the horniest animal, this is know from antiquity onwards. I suggest you read Apuleius’ ‘The Golden Ass’. Donkey symbolises unbridled lust and is famous for mistaking some other animal for she-ass, even a human. Women quickly noticed this fact and bestiality has a long history. Let us hope that donkeys will survive the onslaught of Chinese medicine. Without them, life would be much more boring.
